ATM attacks two arrested

TWO brothers have been arrested in connection with bomb attacks on ATM machines in Bahrain.
The Bahrainis, aged 23 and 19, are accused of detonating homemade explosives at the National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) in Sanad and Sitra last February.
The men have also been charged with possessing and making Molotov cocktails.
Both were yesterday remanded in custody for 45 days.
However, three other suspects are still on the run.
Eyewitnesses previously said the explosive device in Sanad was planted by a man dressed in an abaya.
It exploded shortly after he left the bank at around 12.45am on February 18, but nobody was injured.
One of the eyewitnesses earlier told the GDN people were walking just 30 metres from the ATM machine when the blast happened.
The second bomb was planted near an ATM belonging to NBB on February 22. No one was injured.
The 23-year-old defendant travelled to Iran for medical treatment before the attacks and prosecutors suspect he may have received militia training.
However, it is not included in the charges. The brothers earlier admitted the offences during questioning, but yesterday claimed they confessed under duress.
Lawyer Jassim Sarhan requested they be released from custody, claiming there was no solid evidence against his clients.
"The brothers were arrested after secret sources claimed they were behind the two ATM blasts," he said.
"However, no explosives were seized at their home and therefore I request their release due to the lack of evidence."
Four ATM machines were attacked in the space of a week last February
